Payroll Implementation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the Payroll subject matter expert during the UKG implementation process.

• Collaborate with UKG, Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, and Operations on configuration and implementation decisions.

• Facilitate the shift from semi-monthly to biweekly payroll and the adoption of the new Saturday–Friday workweek.

• Review and confirm earnings, deductions, taxes, pay groups, payroll calendars, overtime, commissions, and other payroll configurations.

• Assist with ADP-to-UKG payroll data conversion and validation.

• Validate employee, payroll, tax, deduction, and historical data.

• Design and execute payroll testing and test payrolls.

• Reconcile payroll outcomes and investigate any discrepancies.

• Confirm timekeeping-to-payroll integration and calculations.

• Assess and help redesign payroll processes for UKG.

• Create payroll procedures, workflows, and implementation documentation.

• Identify chances to automate manual processes.

• Aid in the development of controls and audit-ready documentation.

• Support the final implementation readiness and cutover activities.

• Provide hands-on assistance during the initial UKG payroll processing.

• Troubleshoot payroll and system issues and coordinate resolutions.

• Facilitate knowledge transfer to the Payroll team after implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of progressive payroll experience.

• Proficiency with UKG Payroll and/or UKG Workforce Management.

• Experience in supporting a payroll system implementation.

• Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processing, timekeeping, earnings, deductions, taxes, overtime, commissions, and benefits.

• Familiarity with payroll data conversion, testing, reconciliation, and validation.

• Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.

• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and capacity to work independently.

• Experience transitioning from ADP to UKG is preferred.

• Experience with the transition from semi-monthly to biweekly payroll is preferred.

• Experience in implementing a new workweek/payroll calendar is preferred.

• Background in multi-company, multi-location payroll environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with UKG timekeeping and payroll integrations is preferred.

• Experience in developing payroll processes, controls, and SOPs is preferred.
