This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Compile payroll data from sources such as Kronos and manual adjustment forms.
• Manage weekly and biweekly payroll for both non-exempt and exempt personnel.
• Evaluate deductions, confirm totals, audit computed wages, and ensure payroll precision.
• Address and resolve moderately complex payroll inquiries from associates.
• Handle off-cycle check requests.
• Maintain and document modifications to payroll data within the HRIS system and/or Service Central ticketing system.
• Download payroll information to an external payroll service provider for pay card and/or direct deposit processing.
• Distribute paycheck statements.
• Enter additional pay, time-off, and W-4 exemption modifications based on submitted documentation.
• Assist managers and associates with inquiries regarding time reporting and payroll procedures.
• Collaborate with the HR Department on payroll policy matters such as overtime and vacations.
• Support annual audits and other accounting tasks assigned by the manager.
• May provide training and serve as a resource for less experienced payroll staff.
• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
• An Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business is preferred.
• At least one year of experience processing payroll for a multi-state organization is preferred.
• Familiarity with HRIS/Payroll database systems, such as PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or ADP is preferred.
• FPC or CPP certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong oral and written communication skills along with attention to detail are essential.
• Working knowledge of payroll regulations, FLSA, multi-state payroll tax, and child support is preferred.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends, evenings, or nights if necessary for shift coverage.
• Capability to lift up to 25 pounds.
