This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure the precise and timely processing of biweekly payroll for over 4,000 employees within a complex, multi-state setting.
• Take ownership of key components of the biweekly payroll cycle, encompassing pre-payroll audits, validation of time and attendance, exception management, payroll validations, employee modifications, and closing activities.
• Independently tackle intricate payroll challenges, such as retroactive adjustments, multi-state taxation, timekeeping exceptions, discrepancies in benefit deductions, and issues related to over- or underpayments.
• Conduct comprehensive payroll reconciliations and variance analyses, which include reviews of earnings and deductions, validation of payroll registers, and reconciliation with the general ledger.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance, and other stakeholders to identify underlying causes, address systemic issues, enhance controls, support audits and year-end processing, and implement preventive enhancements.
• Maintain standard operating procedures, analyze recurring errors, mentor Payroll Associate I team members, and utilize payroll technology, Excel, and AI-driven productivity tools to boost efficiency, documentation, and accuracy.
• A minimum of 3 years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
• Strong understanding of gross-to-net payroll concepts, implications of timekeeping, and considerations for multi-state compliance.
• Proficient Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data validation.
• Comfortable with analyzing and manipulating large datasets.
• Hands-on experience with payroll and HRIS systems.
• Familiarity with ADP Vantage, Workforce, and Workday is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in independently investigating complex payroll cases, pinpointing root causes, making informed decisions, and completing tasks with minimal supervision.
