This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the complete payroll processing cycle for the US and Canada, ensuring accuracy and punctuality for each pay period.
• Act as the primary contact for payroll in the UK and France, collaborating with third-party payroll service providers.
• Maintain payroll records in Rippling, including updates related to employee changes, pay modifications, and terminations.
• Investigate and assist in resolving payroll tax notifications related to unemployment insurance and withholding.
• Reconcile payroll and benefits, encompassing payroll deductions, benefits invoices, and entries in the general ledger.
• Assist in compliance audits by preparing necessary payroll and benefits documentation for the Finance and People Operations teams.
• Manage leave request submissions and verify initial eligibility against company policy.
• Coordinate the impact of leave on payroll processing.
• Monitor the status of leave cases and oversee logistics for returning to work.
• Collaborate with People Operations on compliance assessments for complicated or ambiguous leave cases.
• Address employee inquiries regarding benefits enrollment, coverage, and plan specifics.
• Process adjustments to benefits linked to qualifying life events.
• Provide support for open enrollment logistics as necessary.
• 3–5 years of experience in payroll processing, including multi-state payroll management in the US.
• Preferred experience with Canadian payroll; a willingness to develop expertise in this area is required.
• Strong preference for experience with Rippling or a similar HRIS/payroll platform.
• Familiarity with US leave legislation (FMLA, state paid leave/PFML) is preferred.
• Proven experience in researching and resolving payroll tax notifications (SUI, withholding) directly with tax authorities or through a payroll provider.
• Exceptional attention to detail and capability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments with Finance and external vendors.
• Experience working with international payroll vendors is advantageous (UK/France).
