This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Examine and audit payroll data to ensure payroll processing is accurate, timely, and compliant.

• Conduct payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, and balancing tasks for earnings, deductions, taxes, and payroll-related accounts.

• Investigate and resolve complex payroll and payroll tax issues, including supporting payroll tax compliance, addressing tax notices, and managing year-end activities.

• Collaborate with employees, managers, HR, Benefits, Finance, HRIS, and vendors to address payroll inquiries and maintain payroll data integrity.

• Identify and execute process enhancements.

• Fortify payroll controls and assist with audits.

• Engage in testing and validation of payroll system improvements.

• Execute payroll accounting, reporting, payroll tax administration, payroll-related data management, and employee deduction administration.

• Provide support to employees and business partners regarding intricate payroll inquiries.


⛳️ Requirements

• A High School Diploma is required.

• A minimum of 6 years of payroll experience, ideally supporting a multi-state workforce of over 1,000 employees across various legal entities.

• Proven experience in multi-state payroll processing and payroll tax compliance, including federal, state, and local tax obligations.

• Familiarity with performing payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, balancing tasks, and payroll-related accounting support.

• Experience in researching and resolving complicated payroll issues, payroll tax discrepancies, and tax notices.

• Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, payroll regulations, and compliance obligations.

• Proficiency in utilizing large ERP and payroll systems for processing payroll, conducting analysis, supporting testing efforts, and troubleshooting payroll issues.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, encompassing data analysis, reconciliations, formulas, reporting, and data validation.

• Capability to leverage technology, automation, analytics, and AI-driven tools to enhance payroll processes, strengthen controls, boost efficiency, and facilitate data-informed decision-making.

• Willingness to travel once a year.

• Must successfully pass a criminal background check and verification of employment, education, and licensing.

• Must be bondable.
