This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the complete merchant onboarding process from commercial handover to the go-live stage.
• Ensure that merchants are correctly set up and ready to start transactions on schedule.
• Collaborate with Sales, Underwriting, Compliance, and Product teams to uphold timelines and address escalations.
• Act as the primary contact for merchants during the onboarding process, providing status updates and resolving any obstacles.
• Oversee account setup, which includes processing parameters, settlement structures, gateway provisioning, and reporting configurations.
• Maintain thorough documentation and handover to the post-go-live stabilization team.
• Utilize AI tools to enhance communication, automate status monitoring, and expedite configuration workflows.
• Serve as the internal authority on payment gateway operations, merchant acquiring, onboarding compliance, KYC/KYB, card network regulations, tokenization, and compliance standards.
• Provide guidance to Sales and Account Management on commercially viable and operationally feasible deals.
• Create and sustain onboarding playbooks, process documentation, and training resources.
• Analyze onboarding metrics and SLA data to pinpoint friction areas and foster continuous enhancement.
• Educate internal teams on regulatory changes, processor updates, and evolving scheme requirements.
• Monitor new AI applications within payments and onboarding and propose their adoption.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop two onboarding specialists.
• Promote team proficiency in AI and integrate AI tools into routine workflows.
• Oversee workload, queue health, and adherence to SLAs; escalate issues and eliminate blockers.
• Conduct regular quality audits to ensure accuracy and compliance readiness.
• 4–8 years of experience in payments, payment operations, merchant onboarding, fintech operations, or a similar field.
• Extensive knowledge of payment gateways, merchant acquiring, and processor configurations.
• Practical experience with KYC/KYB processes and payment compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional onboarding projects with various stakeholders under tight deadlines.
• Experience in the restaurant, hospitality, POS, or integrated payments sectors is highly preferred.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how onboarding affects merchant satisfaction, revenue, and retention.
• A keen interest in AI tools; experience leveraging AI to enhance operational workflows is a significant advantage.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage with merchants and senior internal stakeholders comfortably.
• Previous experience in managing or mentoring a small team.
• Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce; knowledge of onboarding or project management tools is a plus.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada.
• Must not be bound by any restrictive covenant agreements that would prevent employment at PAR.
