
Patient Scheduler – Call Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Welcome patients and address inquiries via phone.
• Review and manage appointment recalls and reports on no-shows or cancellations.
• Appropriately channel phone calls and messages from the answering service.
• Register both new and existing patients while activating their files.
• Collect and document copayments.
• Provide financial assistance regarding claims and billing inquiries.
• Verify insurance eligibility and communicate any limitations on benefits.
• Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits.
• Accurately document patient encounters with detail.
• Assist patients and medical staff as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues, management, and staff to ensure smooth practice operations.
• Adhere to SOPs, HIPAA, OSHA, and practice policies.
• Engage in team meetings and initiatives for quality improvement.
• Uphold the organization’s mission, values, ethical standards, and professionalism.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service.
• Call Center experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in computer systems, including MS Office, Word, Excel, email, and internet research.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and various Insurance Payors.
• Experience as a Medical Receptionist or PSR is preferred.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred, though not required.
• Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.
• Ability to manage a high volume of calls and discern when to escalate issues.
• Capability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• A compassionate and empathetic approach towards patients.
• Strong time management, prioritization, attention to detail, self-motivation, productivity, adaptability, and collaboration skills.
