This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.
β’ Assess the financial components associated with patient services.
β’ Estimate, communicate, and collect the financial responsibilities of patients.
β’ Offer financial counseling to patients.
β’ Help patients comprehend their insurance benefits, including co-payment, deductible, and co-insurance obligations.
β’ Inform patients about available financial assistance programs when applicable.
β’ Gather patient demographic details and request financial responsibility from patients.
β’ Evaluate patient eligibility for third-party payer coverage and relay the status to the financial counselor, patient, or family member.
β’ Verify commercial insurance, workers' compensation insurance, TPL insurance, and various state and government programs.
β’ Document and address patient concerns or inquiries received via telephone, mail, or in person within designated time frames.
β’ Validate the Master Patient Index in accordance with departmental policies.
β’ Interpret physician orders.
β’ Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
β’ High School diploma/GED or 10 years of relevant work experience.
β’ No prior experience is required.
β’ Familiarity with EHR, health insurance, and payer portals is desirable.
β’ Exceptional customer service skills are essential.
β’ Proficient computer skills are necessary.
β’ Candidates must reside in Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin, with a preference for Missouri and Illinois regions.
β’ For remote positions in Missouri/Illinois, candidates must live within 50 miles of the St. Louis, Missouri corporate office.
β’ Frequent use of a keyboard and data entry is required.
β’ Must be capable of performing physical activities, including lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling items weighing 0β25 lbs frequently and 25β50 lbs occasionally.
β’ No specific professional licenses or certifications are required.
