This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.
β’ Process patient payments via phone in accordance with financial responsibility policies.
β’ Create, modify, and maintain payment plans for patients.
β’ Ensure accuracy of transactions, documentation, and data integrity.
β’ Interpret and clarify claim notes, balances, and billing results.
β’ Verify, audit, and update insurance information as needed.
β’ Add or update insurance details in the EMR and resubmit any pending or corrected claims.
β’ Educate patients about coordination of benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, copays, timely filing, and claim denials.
β’ Identify discrepancies and collaborate with internal teams to rectify billing issues.
β’ Research account histories and identify root causes of billing or payment issues.
β’ Recommend resolutions and next steps that align with policy.
β’ Utilize billing systems, EMR platforms, tools, and knowledge resources effectively.
β’ Navigate multiple systems concurrently while assisting patients.
β’ Maintain adherence to schedule and availability during assigned hours.
β’ Complete all required client-mandated training and participate in both uptraining and cross-training sessions.
β’ Adhere to HIPAA, confidentiality, privacy, and security standards.
β’ Deliver professional, accountable, empathetic, and patient-centered service.
β’ Required experience in customer service or call center environments.
β’ Strongly preferred experience in healthcare billing, insurance, or claims.
β’ Preferred experience in payment processing or financial transactions.
β’ High school diploma or GED is required.
β’ Technical proficiency with EMR systems and standard computer applications is necessary.
β’ Ability to work independently in a remote or virtual setting.
β’ Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
β’ Background check is required in compliance with applicable laws.
β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
β’ Analytical problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail are necessary.
β’ A solid understanding of healthcare billing and insurance concepts is required.
β’ Ability to convey complex billing information in a patient-friendly manner.
β’ Comfort with working across multiple systems and tools simultaneously.
β’ Organized, self-motivated, and collaborative work approach is essential.
β’ Availability to work assigned hours between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM CST, Monday through Friday.
β’ Shift differential: an additional $1/hour for nights and weekends.
β’ Paid training, typically lasting 2 weeks.
β’ Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
β’ Eligible for benefits on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
