This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
β’ Deliver exceptional, friendly, courteous, and professional service to clients
β’ Determine suitable payment details and securely store backup documentation as necessary
β’ Investigate, confirm, and rectify payment postings
β’ Adhere to procedures and policies to follow up on account resolutions
β’ Utilize resources to locate payment documentation and interpret payer contracts to ensure account codes correspond with contracts
β’ Initiate recoupments, refunds from payers, and patient refunds when applicable
β’ Navigate payer claim portals and comprehend payer functionalities
β’ Communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms
β’ Operate computers, office machinery, and software
β’ Provide training to new and existing team members
β’ Identify trends in payments, payer behavior, systems, and workflows and escalate issues promptly
β’ Support leadership in mentoring colleagues and new employees
β’ High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is mandatory
β’ Minimum of one (1) year of experience in hospital or physician back-end revenue cycle (Payment Posting, Billing, Follow-Up) is required
β’ Understanding of Medicaid and Medicare billing regulations is essential
β’ Two (2) years of experience in hospital or physician insurance-related activities (Authorization, Billing, Follow-Up, Call-Center, or Collections) is preferred
β’ Advanced knowledge of the revenue cycle and health insurance payers
β’ Proficiency in reading and interpreting payer contracts
β’ Advanced understanding of Coordination of Benefits
β’ Advanced knowledge of reading Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
β’ Advanced familiarity with medical terminology
β’ Knowledge of payment processing
β’ Awareness of HIPAA regulations
β’ Computer literacy and capability to operate computers, office equipment, and software
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills
β’ Ability to read documents and computer screens in English
β’ Competence in navigating various payer claim portals and understanding payer functionalities
β’ Skill in distinguishing between genuine overpayments and erroneous credits
β’ Ability to identify trends in payer behavior, system, or workflow issues and escalate them in a timely manner
β’ Capability to assist in mentoring colleagues and new hires
β’ Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods and perform occasional lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching
β’ Ability to comply with remote work expectations regarding confidentiality, information security, work schedules, conflicts of interest, and company equipment
