This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Identify and cultivate a pipeline of new healthcare merchant payment opportunities through prospecting, referrals, portfolio assessments, industry events, and strategic alliances.
• Facilitate consultative discovery discussions regarding clients’ payment acceptance, processing, funding, reconciliation, security, and reporting across various channels including in-person, online, mobile, recurring, and integrated.
• Analyze merchant acquiring, gateways, point-of-sale solutions, card and ACH acceptance, tokenization, funding, chargebacks, fraud prevention, PCI compliance, data security, integrations, and reporting mechanisms.
• Examine healthcare workflows such as patient collections, pre-service and point-of-care payments, post-visit balances, card-on-file, payment plans, text-to-pay, online bill pay, auto-posting, reconciliation, and integrations with practice management/EHR/EMR/revenue-cycle systems.
• Develop and present customized payment strategies aimed at enhancing revenue growth, receivables, operational efficiency, patient and staff experiences, and the value of banking relationships.
• Collaborate with product, pricing, underwriting, risk, technical, implementation, service, and banking partners throughout the discovery, onboarding, activation, and ongoing management processes.
• Establish relationships with Healthcare Relationship Managers, Business Bankers, Treasury Management partners, branches, and referral sources.
• Create proposals, conduct demonstrations, build business cases, and deliver executive presentations.
• Maintain records of opportunities, activities, pipeline, and forecasting information in Salesforce or other designated systems.
• Achieve or surpass targets for revenue, sales, approvals, activations, relationship growth, client retention, and partner involvement.
• Remain informed about healthcare market trends, payment technologies, competitive landscape, regulatory requirements, network regulations, and new payment methods.
• Handle client and bank information with care, adhering to applicable laws, regulations, risk standards, and internal policies.
• Bachelor’s degree or a suitable combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• A minimum of five years of experience in merchant acquiring, payment processing, treasury management, financial services, healthcare technology, or consultative B2B sales.
• Proven track record in generating new business, managing a sales pipeline, and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities.
• In-depth understanding of the complete payments ecosystem, encompassing acquiring, issuing, card networks, gateways, processors, independent software vendors, payment facilitators, point-of-sale systems, digital wallets, ACH, settlement, funding, reconciliation, interchange, authentication, fraud management, chargebacks, and data security.
• Willingness to travel within the designated market or nationally as business needs dictate.
• Anticipated travel of 25% or more for meetings and presentations, which may necessitate in-person attendance.
• Preference for candidates with seven or more years of relevant experience in payments, banking, or financial technology.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in healthcare payments or healthcare financial services.
• Familiarity with patient payment and revenue cycle workflows, practice management systems, EHR/EMR platforms, ERP solutions, healthcare integrations, and automated posting and reconciliation is preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, PCI DSS, tokenization, encryption, and point-to-point encryption is preferred.
• Experience in selling integrated, omnichannel, or software-enabled payment solutions is preferred.
• Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including the ability to review processing statements, evaluate pricing, quantify savings, identify workflow efficiencies, and create value propositions is preferred.
• Exceptional client-facing communication, discovery, negotiation, presentation, and executive relationship management skills are preferred.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across sales, product, technology, implementation, operations, service, risk, and banking teams is preferred.
• The role requires a minimum of 10 hours of driving per week within the local market.
