Patient Access Representative – Patient Scheduling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Accurately and efficiently register patients using the Epic system.

• Validate and update patient and insurance details within the clinic's computer system.

• Confirm insurance coverage and collect necessary payments, account balances, and outstanding amounts.

• Inform patients regarding billing and collection procedures, expected charges, financial responsibilities, payment plans, and patient rights.

• Greet patients and their families, address inquiries and concerns, and assist with access to MyChart and community resources.

• Oversee patient schedules and manage patient flow; schedule and reschedule appointments as needed.

• Coordinate referrals with physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and other providers in line with payer requirements.

• Execute clerical tasks such as answering phone calls, retrieving medical records, documenting data, typing memos, and organizing patient charts.

• Investigate claim edits, denials, billing discrepancies, and physician charge information; resolve issues within specified timelines.

• Input charges, process batches, prepare bank/deposit summaries, review diagnosis and procedure codes, and enter point-of-service data.

• Reconcile daily cash funds, securely handle payments, and achieve site collection targets.

• Provide backup support, assist with clinic and health-system operational initiatives, and offer training or orientation when required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 months experience in a customer service/front desk position or completion of a front office/medical office program; a Bachelor's degree may replace the experience requirement.

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Professional demeanor is essential.

• Exceptional customer service skills are required.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong critical thinking abilities.

• Proven computer literacy.

• Willingness to learn and demonstrate proficiency in Epic during the introductory period.
