This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.
• Define and implement product partnership strategies and collaborative initiatives with Stripe's key card network partners, including new offerings that provide value to Stripe users.
• Identify, assess, and advocate for high-impact partnership opportunities using industry knowledge, partner insights, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop commercial models, partnership strategies, and distribution plans for new product capabilities and market entry tactics.
• Independently drive complex, high-impact negotiations with card network partners, including commercial agreements that influence Stripe's payment acceptance costs and long-term strategic positioning.
• Create scalable deal structures and partnership frameworks across various partners, products, or markets.
• Influence internal product and go-to-market teams, as well as external partner stakeholders, to develop solutions beneficial to Stripe, its users, and the payments ecosystem.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Treasury.
• Set strategic direction, clarify trade-offs, and align stakeholders on the resources and commitments necessary for execution.
• Navigate complex stakeholder conflicts with minimal guidance.
• Evaluate Stripe and partner readiness, highlight risks and dependencies, and advocate for necessary decisions to advance work.
• Ensure effective daily partnership operations and compliance with risk and regulatory obligations.
• Represent Stripe at partner and industry events, cultivating trusted relationships with senior partner stakeholders.
• Over 10 years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, corporate development, or a related field.
• More than 5 years of experience in payments, card networks, or a related financial services sector.
• Proven experience working on card issuing products, issuer-facing capabilities, or product partnerships related to issuing.
• Comprehensive understanding of card network dynamics, business models, and the payments ecosystem.
• Extensive experience in crafting and executing industry-wide partnership strategies, product strategies, or go-to-market models that yield significant impact across multiple partnerships.
• Proven track record of defining and leading intricate partnership strategies that necessitate alignment among product, commercial, operational, and technical stakeholders.
• Experience independently managing complex, high-stakes commercial negotiations and balancing trade-offs across economics, product capabilities, timelines, and strategic objectives.
• Familiarity with product-centric environments that involve considerable internal and external dependencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally across various functions, including C-suite leaders.
