This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in the execution of OSCIA programs across various counties and districts.
• Organize and conduct both virtual and in-person workshops, handling logistics, delivery, reporting, and administration.
• Work in conjunction with Technical Advisors to co-facilitate workshops.
• Advocate for OSCIA cost-share opportunities and support research initiatives through public outreach.
• Communicate with farmers via phone, email, and in-person about cost-share applications and claims.
• Perform on-site or virtual inspections of approved cost-share projects.
• Aid in information sessions focused on funding opportunities and program updates.
• Deliver precise information consistent with procedures and funding regulations.
• Identify efficiencies, share field insights, and integrate client feedback to enhance programs.
• Engage in agricultural events, producer meetings, conferences, workshops, and networking opportunities.
• Represent OSCIA in sustainable agriculture programming and knowledge dissemination.
• Build and sustain relationships with farm organizations, agri-businesses, and partners.
• Ensure confidentiality and data security across filing systems.
• Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and staff training initiatives.
• Contribute to program messaging and outreach strategies.
• Monitor and report on client feedback.
• Travel within the assigned district and occasionally outside the region for support, training, or events.
• Prioritize seasonal workloads in accordance with farmer schedules and program timelines.
• Track workshop delivery, project support, reporting compliance, stakeholder engagement, and process enhancements.
• A post-secondary degree in agriculture, environmental sciences, or a related field; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
• Strong comprehension of Ontario agriculture, including environmental and economic sustainability, biosecurity, soil health, water quality, and best management practices.
• Proven experience in facilitating adult education sessions or agricultural workshops.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, especially when engaging with farming audiences.
• Customer service experience supporting producers or agricultural clients.
• Capability to engage farm businesses and promote active participation in programs.
• Strong administrative, coordination, and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt and rapidly grasp new concepts.
• Proficient in a variety of computer applications and technology.
• A valid Ontario Class G driver's license is required.
• Familiarity with agricultural funding programs and sustainability practices.
• Understanding of rural community dynamics and Ontario farm operations.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills suitable for adult learning.
• Computer literacy and comfort with virtual platforms and digital tools.
• Excellent time management and administrative tracking skills.
• Ability to work both in teams and independently while managing a flexible schedule.
• Capacity to respond to farmer needs and prioritize seasonal workloads.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Dependable, high-speed internet connection for virtual meetings and online collaboration.
• Willingness to work outside standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
• Capacity to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
