This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in managing NFPA’s brand, encompassing trademark registration and oversight, processing copyright permissions, conducting marketing reviews, issuing take-down notices, and safeguarding copyrighted materials.

• Evaluate and oversee contracts.

• Manage correspondence effectively.

• Develop, organize, and maintain databases, official records, and reference resources.

• Produce reports as required.

• Process state and federal filings and corporate registrations.

• Conduct legal research related to pertinent laws, regulations, and legal literature.

• Draft, edit, and proofread while assisting in the preparation, delivery, and archiving of contracts, contract templates, correspondence, memoranda, and various legal documents.

• Aid in litigation management by coordinating document production and preparing correspondence.

• Support communications within the Legal Department, including maintaining the legal section on the intranet.

• Collaborate with internal and external personnel to address inquiries.

• Oversee administration, record-keeping, and information management for the Legal Department.

• Arrange meetings and travel logistics, and prepare expense reports.

• Coordinate and manage information for insurance purposes.

• Uphold strict confidentiality regarding the Legal Department and sensitive information.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Operate under the general supervision of the General Counsel.

• Proficient in proofreading, editing, and document preparation.

• Capable of managing projects effectively.

• Innovative and adaptable.

• Strong computer proficiency.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.

• Knowledge of mobile Apple devices.

• Willingness to learn and adhere to procedures while working closely with legal, technical, and support teams.

• Minimum bachelor’s degree / Paralegal Certificate required.

• At least 10 years of business or office experience, including previous legal experience.

• Experience with IP and in-house roles is highly desirable.
