This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +20 more states.
β’ Provide legal and administrative assistance to the Chief Legal Officer.
β’ Review, prepare, organize, track, and route contracts, agreements, amendments, and legal documents.
β’ Identify missing information, inconsistencies, approvals, renewal dates, and other items needing legal review.
β’ Maintain records and tracking systems for contracts, legal matters, policies, and procedures.
β’ Coordinate communications, document requests, meetings, invoices, and follow up with external counsel.
β’ Assist with legal research and the preparation of summaries and supporting documentation.
β’ Review regulatory and legally sensitive communications, letters, notices, templates, and formal correspondence.
β’ Assist with responses to regulatory agencies, subpoenas, legal requests, and other correspondence.
β’ Prepare and distribute quarterly Board of Directors packets.
β’ Coordinate the review and approval process for the organization's policies and procedures.
β’ Serve as the main administrative contact for the Policy & Procedure Committee.
β’ Organize committee meetings, agendas, materials, approvals, and follow-up activities.
β’ Review policies and procedures for formatting, consistency, required sections, responsible parties, review dates, and approvals.
β’ Collaborate with department leaders to update policies within established timeframes.
β’ Maintain the policy inventory and monitor review or expiration dates.
β’ Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
β’ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field is required.
β’ A minimum of three (3) years of experience in paralegal work, legal operations, contract administration, healthcare administration, or a related field is required.
β’ A paralegal certificate from an accredited program is preferred.
β’ Experience in healthcare, managed care, corporate, regulatory, or in-house legal departments is strongly preferred.
β’ Familiarity with reviewing contracts, policies, regulatory correspondence, or other legal documents is preferred.
β’ Strong organizational and document-management skills are essential.
β’ Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information in documents.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
β’ Ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and priorities at the same time.
β’ Capability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
β’ Strong follow-up skills and the ability to coordinate assignments across multiple departments.
β’ Ability to review and comprehend contracts, policies, procedures, regulatory correspondence, and other formal documents.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and document-management systems is required.
β’ Ability to work independently while recognizing issues that require escalation to the Chief Legal Officer.
β’ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally with senior leadership, external counsel, regulators, providers, vendors, and employees.
