P2P Node.js Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Enhance and fortify Holepunch’s fundamental P2P networking and storage elements

• Develop and refine high-performance networking applications using Node.js and JavaScript

• Improve network protocols for optimal performance

• Create custom binary protocols and serialization formats

• Utilize cryptographic techniques for secure P2P communication

• Analyze and enhance networked systems

• Construct reliable systems within unreliable networks

• Engage with libuv and asynchronous I/O in C

• Contribute to open-source P2P initiatives or networking libraries

• Collaborate remotely with Tether’s international engineering team

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of P2P protocols such as Kademlia, BitTorrent, libp2p, and hypercore

• Proven experience in enhancing network protocols for superior performance

• Proficient JavaScript skills tailored for high-performance networking applications

• Comprehensive understanding of UDP and TCP/IP networking, including NAT traversal strategies

• Experience in creating custom binary protocols and serialization formats

• Acquainted with cryptographic methods for secure P2P communication

• Background in performance profiling and enhancement of networked systems

• Over 5 years of experience in developing production-level P2P systems or distributed systems

• Expertise in optimizing JavaScript for low-latency networking applications

• Understanding of V8 internals and JavaScript performance attributes

• Experience with libuv and asynchronous I/O in C

• Contributions to open-source P2P projects or networking libraries

• Proven ability to build reliable systems in unstable network environments

• Familiarity with Node.js native addons and bridging JavaScript with C

• Exceptional English communication skills
