Outreach Lead Account Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Engage in outreach efforts targeting customers, service providers, trade allies, contractors, distributors, manufacturers, and industry associations to enhance program visibility and participation.

• Establish and nurture relationships with commercial, industrial, agricultural, institutional, and public-sector clients throughout the Mid-Central Region.

• Act as the regional liaison for outreach initiatives that support utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs.

• Represent utility rebate and energy efficiency initiatives at expos, trade shows, counter days, association meetings, customer events, and networking functions.

• Develop and implement regional outreach and engagement strategies that align with client objectives and program goals.

• Mentor and train trade allies, service providers, customers, community partners, and internal team members.

• Design and deliver presentations, workshops, webinars, and training sessions; collaborate with marketing teams to create messaging and outreach materials.

• Facilitate communication among customers, trade allies, service providers, utility clients, and ICF delivery teams.

• Monitor outreach activities, leads, customer engagement, market feedback, and participation metrics utilizing CRM and program management systems.

• Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, dashboards, outreach summaries, and database updates using Microsoft Office and program-specific software.

• Evaluate participation, customer satisfaction, and engagement targets; identify challenges, risks, opportunities, and insights gained.

• Provide support to utility clients, including coordinating meetings, planning sessions, program reviews, engagement updates, and client communications.

• Keep abreast of industry developments, market trends, emerging technologies, program updates, and customer requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Energy Management, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in place of a degree.

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in utility energy efficiency programs, account management, customer engagement, business development, community outreach, trade ally management, service provider engagement, or program implementation.

• A customer-service-focused mindset with the ability to cultivate and sustain relationships with various stakeholders.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in public speaking and presenting both virtually and in person.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

• A valid driver's license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.

• Willingness and ability to travel at least 25% of the time across the eight-state Mid-Central Region.

• Knowledge or experience in energy efficiency, utility programs, electrification, demand response, sustainability, or commercial energy technologies.

• Experience working with commercial and industrial clients.

• Background in managing a trade ally/service provider network.

• Familiarity with HVAC, lighting, controls, building automation, refrigeration, compressed air, process improvements, or other energy-efficient technologies.

• Experience in organizing and facilitating trainings, webinars, workshops, customer events, or industry gatherings.

• Proficiency with CRM tools, customer tracking systems, databases, reporting tools, or program management software.

• Experience in supporting utility clients and/or regulatory-driven programs.

• Ability to work independently in a remote and geographically dispersed setting.

• Bilingual in English and another language is an asset, though not mandatory.
