Outpatient Multi-Service Facility Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding across 1–4 specialties

• Conduct Professional Fee, Facility, or HCC coding

• Offer coding services to support clients

• Calculate Professional Fee and/or Facility E/M levels utilizing the company algorithm

• Identify critical care cases based on patient acuity

• Code surgical procedures in an ER setting to enhance revenue capture when applicable

• Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes with the utmost specificity

• Precisely assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS diagnosis and procedure codes

• Interpret coding guidelines to ensure accurate code assignment

• Evaluate the relevance of documentation and its impact on reimbursement

• Adhere to AHIMA ethical coding standards, company ethics, compliance requirements, and internal policies

• Engage in company-sponsored training and educational programs

• Uphold privacy and security compliance while safeguarding confidential information and PHI

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership

⛳️ Requirements

• Certified by AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P)

• Minimum of 6 months of relevant on-the-job experience

• Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance

• Proficient understanding and experience with EMR and billing systems

• Access to a phone, reliable internet connection, and up-to-date CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references

• Maintain ongoing productivity and accuracy rates of 95% or above

• Achieve a quality score of 95% or higher

• Competence in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, including basic spreadsheet functions, email management, and scheduling meetings

• Strong and professional verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and adhere to deadlines

• Capability to work independently from home

• Ability to remain at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours daily

• Ability to occasionally lift and transport materials weighing up to 20 lbs
