Orthopedic Spine Reviewer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive and impartial evaluations of medical charts in line with established clinical standards and evidence-based protocols.

• Review medical records and associated documentation to develop clear and logical clinical assessments.

• Generate succinct, precise, and defensible written reports to support review conclusions.

• Fulfill reviews in accordance with MMRO's quality benchmarks and defined turnaround times.

• Employ MMRO review templates and ensure that all necessary components are thoroughly and accurately addressed.

• Uphold professionalism, impartiality, and confidentiality throughout the review process.

• Respond swiftly to inquiries from MMRO clinical and operational personnel.

• Engage in mandatory reviewer orientation and continuous training sessions.

• Integrate quality feedback provided by MMRO's Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, and clinical team into practice.

• Contribute to ongoing quality enhancement initiatives through constructive feedback and teamwork.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current, unrestricted M.D. or D.O. license to practice medicine in the United States.

• Active medical license in Colorado.

• Board Certification from an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) recognized specialty board.

• At least five (5) years of full-time equivalent clinical experience providing direct patient care.

• Active clinical practice experience within the last three (3) years.

• Excellent written communication abilities and strong attention to detail.

• Capability to consistently meet set review deadlines.

• Preferred: Fellowship training in Orthopedic Spine Surgery.

• Preferred: Previous experience in peer reviews, independent medical reviews, disability assessments, utilization review, or expert medical opinions.
