This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review pending and overdue orthodontic insurance claims to determine the reasons for non-receipt of payments.
• Engage with insurance carriers via phone and their websites to investigate claim and payment statuses.
• Submit and re-submit insurance claims through practice management systems, via fax, or mail as necessary.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to unpaid, underpaid, or overpaid insurance balances.
• Reconcile insurance payments and allocate them to the appropriate patient accounts.
• Adjust accounts to ensure the accuracy of patient and insurance balances.
• Address inbound patient inquiries related to insurance accounts and offer assistance when further research or clarification is required.
• Navigate practice management systems and insurance portals to gather account and claim information.
• Maintain precise and comprehensive documentation throughout the claims resolution process.
• Independently handle a substantial volume of accounts while achieving accuracy and productivity targets.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in orthodontic insurance is required.
• Proven experience in researching and following up on unpaid or outstanding insurance claims.
• Strong understanding of dental or orthodontic insurance procedures, including claim submissions, payment processing, and insurance benefits.
• Proficient in navigating various systems and insurance carrier websites.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capable of investigating issues, identifying reasons for unpaid claims, and determining the appropriate next steps.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a remote setting.
• Basic technology skills and the capacity to quickly learn new systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience with orthodontic practice management software such as Dolphin, Cloud 9, Ortho2, OrthoTrac, or TOPS is preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.
