This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Perform keyword research specifically for Japanese-language markets, identifying high-intent opportunities that align with client business objectives.

• Evaluate Japanese SERPs on Google and Yahoo! JAPAN to gain insights into competitive landscapes, content gaps, and ranking determinants.

• Investigate how Japanese-language prompts reveal brands in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.

• Determine where clients are mentioned, absent, or inaccurately represented in AI searches.

• Create comprehensive content briefs that outline structure, intent, keyword utilization, and differentiation.

• Develop briefs that facilitate easy extraction and citation of content by AI systems.

• Collaborate with account leads to ensure keyword strategies are in sync with overarching client goals.

• Implement SEO best practices while considering Japanese search behaviors and linguistic nuances across kanji, katakana, and romanized terms.

• Adhere to 48–72-hour deadlines for each deliverable while upholding high standards.

• Maintain proactive communication regarding workload, obstacles, and capacity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in Japanese.

• Strong comprehension of how Japanese consumers search for and engage with B2B content.

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in SEO, keyword research, or content strategy.

• Experience preferred in B2B or SaaS contexts.

• Proficient with keyword research tools like Ahrefs or similar platforms.

• Knowledge of search intent and the capability to convert keyword data into actionable briefs.

• Familiarity with the selection and citation processes of AI search engines, or a quick learning ability.

• Experience testing Japanese prompts across Large Language Models (LLMs) is a significant advantage.

• Detail-oriented and dependable; capable of meeting deadlines while identifying issues early on.

• Self-motivated and able to work remotely with asynchronous communication.

• Must not subcontract any work.

• Provide 2–3 examples of keyword research deliverables, content briefs, or AI search visibility projects; Japanese-language samples preferred, with English samples acceptable if fluency in the Japanese market is demonstrated.
