This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Acts as the technical authority for Oracle database design, performance, and security.
• Identifies and resolves intricate database and performance challenges.
• Evaluates database designs, as well as SQL and PL/SQL code, for quality and efficiency.
• Plans and facilitates database upgrades, migrations, and consolidations.
• Suggests standards, tools, and best practices for Oracle environments.
• Assists with high availability and disaster recovery planning.
• Guides and mentors database administrators and developers.
• Carries out additional responsibilities as required.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required.
• Over 7 years of experience with Oracle databases in both administration and development.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle architecture, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Familiarity with performance tuning tools such as AWR, ASH, and SQL Tuning Advisor.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, or other similar high availability solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Regularly required to use standard office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, phones, scanners, and printers.
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) is preferred.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or AWS database services is preferred.
• Experience in supporting federal government contracts is preferred.
