Oracle Database Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and enhance the performance of Oracle databases by analyzing SQL queries to uncover bottlenecks and areas for improvement.

• Examine execution plans, cardinality, indexes, joins, full table scans, and other performance-related elements.

• Conduct SQL tuning activities to identify queries that consume excessive CPU, I/O, or memory, along with those exhibiting prolonged execution times.

• Analyze, assess, and refine PL/SQL code, including procedures, functions, packages, triggers, cursors, PL/SQL blocks, jobs, and automated tasks, while proposing and implementing enhancements to boost efficiency, stability, and scalability across Oracle environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a similar field.

• Significant experience serving as a Senior Oracle DBA.

• In-depth knowledge of Oracle database administration.

• Proven experience in analyzing and optimizing the performance of Oracle databases.

• Expertise in SQL and PL/SQL.

• Familiarity with SQL tuning and execution plan analysis.

• Understanding of indexes, cardinality, statistics, joins, and strategies for query optimization.

• Experience in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks related to CPU, memory, and I/O.

• Background in optimizing procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and cursors.

• Proficiency with Oracle performance monitoring and diagnostic tools.

• Knowledge of Oracle AWR, ASH, and ADDM.

• Experience in mission-critical and high-availability environments.

• Familiarity with automating database administration tasks.

• Understanding of Oracle architecture and environment sizing.

• Oracle certifications related to database administration and performance tuning.
