Operations Manager, Signal Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the data utilized by Vanta's EPD organization.

• Introduce new signal sources, managing the process from discovery and scoping to ingestion, standardization, and live operation.

• Detect failure modes in information sources and develop systems to mitigate these issues during ingestion.

• Collaborate with teams that produce and consume signals to grasp their meanings and requirements, then build solutions accordingly.

• Replace dependencies on human diligence with engineering solutions by deriving fields, extracting from source systems, and validating data at the time of writing.

• Work alongside teammates who are advancing their skills in building, enhancing their technical capabilities.

• Collaborate with inference and systems layers to ensure that outputs are queryable, reliable, and ready for further development.

⛳️ Requirements

• You have delivered a project within the last 12–18 months — such as a pipeline, an internal tool, a functioning prototype, or an agent — and can discuss the code and justify your decisions.

• You have developed something tangible using Claude, an LLM API, or agentic tooling.

• Proficient in identifying failure modes in data sources, including issues related to staleness, duplication, and schema scalability.

• Possess an engineering-oriented mindset towards resolving adherence issues: derive fields, extract from source systems, or validate data at the time of writing.

• Capable of understanding data meaning by engaging with the teams responsible for producing and consuming it.

• Eager to leverage AI to enhance skills and boost efficiency and impact.

• No formal CS degree or engineering experience is necessary.

• Demonstrate curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI in a responsible manner.
