This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish Ameresco's Medium Voltage Operations & Maintenance Department from the ground up.
• Guide the phased recruitment process from an initial three-member team to a 21-member department over the span of five years.
• Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and quality management systems for medium voltage tasks.
• Transition medium voltage preventative and corrective maintenance tasks currently outsourced to third-party contractors into internal operations.
• Oversee preferred third-party medium voltage contractors engaged for surge capacity and specialized work.
• Act as the internal subject matter expert on medium voltage and serve as the technical escalation point.
• Assess subcontractor scope, quality, responsiveness, issues, testing reports, and deliverables.
• Advise on repair versus replacement decisions and prioritize corrective measures.
• Supervise nationwide scheduling, dispatch, and execution of Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) service requests.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across various crews and regions.
• Enhance crew travel logistics and regional coverage.
• Manage department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and maintain records in the AssetPlanner CMMS.
• Onboard and evaluate medium voltage equipment to identify essential spare parts.
• Source, procure, and maintain common fleet components; update Inventory Management System (IMS).
• Foster a zero-tolerance safety culture and conduct quarterly reviews and unannounced PPE/Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) audits.
• Design training roadmaps and oversee the apprenticeship initiative.
• Conduct annual skills matrix assessments and competency evaluations.
• Formulate succession plans and mentor Lead Technicians and high-potential team members.
• Manage the annual operating budget and monitor third-party cost avoidance and net savings.
• Oversee fleet, tooling, consumable budgets, vehicle procurement, and replacement strategies.
• Participate in or supervise an on-call rotation for 24/7 emergency corrective maintenance.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Director of Operations.
• Experience, skills, education, certifications, and location may influence actual compensation.
• Adherence to OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety and regulatory standards.
• Current certifications, PPE compliance, and training prerequisites for technicians.
• Availability for an on-call rotation to support 24/7 emergency corrective maintenance, including weekends and holidays when required.
• Willingness to preferably reside in the Northeast for project coverage.
• Capability to manage nationwide Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) operations.
• Experience in medium voltage preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Proficiency in developing SOPs, MOPs, JHAs, and quality management systems.
• Competence in utilizing Ameresco's CMMS platform, AssetPlanner.
• Ability to review DGA results, relay test reports, infrared scans, and cable test outcomes.
• Knowledge of medium voltage equipment, testing, repairs, replacements, and oversight of subcontractors.
• Skills in managing crew travel, fleet, tooling, inventory, and operating budgets.
