Operations Finance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive, itemized IT budgets and monthly forecasts in collaboration with IT managers and engineers, based on technical roadmaps and vendor schedules.

• Track spending trends and evaluate discrepancies in relation to forecasts.

• Work alongside technical stakeholders to determine the underlying causes of spending variances.

• Manage the complete audit process for IT labor time tracking.

• Ensure that engineering hours are recorded accurately, coded correctly, and adhere to accounting standards, including the allocation of CapEx versus OpEx.

• Reconcile outstanding purchase orders and accrue for technical vendor services.

• Confirm operational data accuracy for precise month-end closing reports.

• Maintain and enhance internal billing models to allocate IT infrastructure and service expenses to the respective business units consuming them.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting, or Management Information Systems (MIS), OR 2–5 years of relevant experience in data reconciliation, operational budgeting, or cost accounting, preferably in an IT setting.

• Familiarity with time-tracking software such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Clarity is advantageous.

• Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle is beneficial.

• Knowledge of specialized IT Financial Management (ITFM/TBM) software is a plus.

• Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions, complex datasets, lookup functions, pivot tables, and data modeling is necessary.

• Ability to convert technical challenges and their operational effects into accounting consequences is required.
