This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Set up, configure, maintain, and provide support for Epic operational database environments across production, testing, training, and disaster recovery.
β’ Carry out authorized environment refreshes and routine maintenance tasks.
β’ Examine database growth, resource limitations, storage performance, and system alerts.
β’ Utilize Epic monitoring tools, such as System Pulse and RedAlert, to detect and address issues proactively to prevent operational disruptions.
β’ Ensure the maintenance and validation of database backups, journaling, and recovery processes.
β’ Engage in high-availability and disaster recovery testing, including documented failover and restoration procedures.
β’ Implement Epic upgrades, database updates, and maintenance changes following approved change-management protocols.
β’ Conduct documented testing, validation, and rollback procedures.
β’ Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate escalations with Epic and InterSystems.
β’ Provide updates regarding impact, restoration progress, and corrective measures.
β’ Automate repetitive administrative tasks.
β’ Keep configuration documentation and runbooks up to date.
β’ Collaborate with infrastructure teams on capacity planning and the resolution of recurring issues.
β’ Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation and assist with planned after-hours maintenance, upgrades, and recovery exercises.
β’ At least three years of experience as an Epic ODBA within a hospital setting, including direct oversight of live production systems.
β’ Current Epic Operational Database Administration certification, with all relevant continuing education and release-related requirements up to date.
β’ Hands-on experience managing InterSystems IRIS databases supporting Epic, including performance troubleshooting, backup validation, and recovery processes.
β’ Proficient in Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
β’ Experience with Epic monitoring and administrative tools, including System Pulse and RedAlert.
β’ Proven track record in supporting production incidents and executing controlled maintenance in a hospital environment.
β’ Excellent documentation, communication, and prioritization abilities.
β’ Capacity to work independently while collaborating with technical teams.
β’ Familiarity with large, multisite hospital environments, Epic implementation or major upgrades, automation, cloud, and automation is preferred or considered a plus.
