This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Administer, maintain, monitor, and optimize IBM DB2 LUW databases in production, test, and development settings.
• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and migrate IBM DB2 LUW databases.
• Identify performance issues, tune SQL, and enhance query efficiency.
• Troubleshoot intricate database challenges.
• Design and implement solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, backup and recovery, and replication.
• Oversee partitioned and clustered DB2 environments (DPF, pureScale), including capacity planning, storage management, and performance monitoring.
• Provide support for data warehouses and critical business transaction systems.
• Collaborate with application, middleware, infrastructure, storage, and network teams.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for database administration and operational activities.
• Engage in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous service enhancement.
• Several years of practical experience as a DB2 LUW Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
• Significant expertise with IBM DB2 LUW 10.x / 11.x, AIX, and Linux administration, as well as backup and recovery strategies and HA/DR architectures.
• Experience in performance tuning, database optimization, and SQL development and troubleshooting.
• Background in supporting large-scale database infrastructures and mission-critical applications.
• Familiarity with database replication technologies and business continuity solutions.
• Proficient in shell scripting (Bash, Korn Shell); knowledge of Python or Perl is a plus.
• Nice to have: Experience with IBM Power Systems, PowerVM, and AIX environments.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of pureScale, DPF, HADR, TSA, or PowerHA.
• Nice to have: Experience in Oracle database administration.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with SAN storage technologies (IBM, NetApp, EMC) and data storage solutions.
• Nice to have: Experience with middleware environments (WebSphere, WebLogic).
• Nice to have: Knowledge of DevOps, automation, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
