This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with internal application owners to assess business needs and suggest RDBMS modifications
• Foster strong relationships with clients, organizations, vendors, and professionals
• Evaluate vendors and products, providing informed recommendations
• Convert business requirements into functional database specifications
• Propose RDBMS designs for improvements, efficiency initiatives, and solutions to production issues
• Proactively identify design challenges and concerns
• Offer expert advice on technical, business, and operational effects
• Mentor and train less experienced staff
• Manage, supervise, and review intricate project plans, tasks, dependencies, and mitigation of issues
• Assist in project execution and provide production support for applications
• Review status of initiatives, compliance and regulatory changes, vendor updates, and maintenance changes with technology stakeholders
• Act as a subject matter expert in RDBMS functionality and testing
• Coordinate integrated testing and address test-environment challenges
• Ensure the resolution of enhancement, reliability, and production-related issues
• Recommend new RDBMS technologies, policies, and procedures
• Provide input on vendor software and database modifications
• Identify opportunities for performance and effectiveness improvements
• Uphold internal control standards and implement audit and regulatory action items
• Recognize risk-related issues for escalation
• Represent technical interests on committees and ad-hoc projects
• Contribute to departmental strategies, solution design, and resource allocation
• Serve as backup for more experienced staff and perform additional assigned responsibilities
• Associate degree and at least 8 years of RDBMS experience, OR a total of at least 10 years of higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 8 years in RDBMS
• Previous experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Experience in leading large-scale system and RDBMS enhancements, conversions, and resolutions to production problems
• Strong project management capabilities
• Proficient task management skills
• Experience in leading problem-solving initiatives and resolving issues
• Expertise in RDBMS skills, tools, and functions
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
• Strong analytical, decision-making, organizational, and time management skills
• Excellent lateral thinking abilities
• Experience in synthesizing disparate ideas into cohesive solutions
• Outstanding presentation skills
• At least 3 years of experience with banking applications, frameworks, business needs, and RDBMS direction and frameworks (preferred)
• Bachelor's degree or higher (preferred)
• Demonstrated mentoring and leadership skills in RDBMS project analysis, design, development, troubleshooting, and tuning (preferred)
• Advanced mastery of multiple RDBMS skills, tools, and functions with in-depth knowledge of operating systems (preferred)
• Prior experience in banking RDBMS support (preferred)
• Experience with CAPPM (preferred)
• Ability to comprehend supported businesses and their terminology
• Ability to understand the technical, business, and operational impacts of projects or issues
