β’ Deliver market insights regarding bolt-on opportunities, competitive dynamics, and valuation frameworks within the subsector.
β’ Facilitate connections with founders, family-owned businesses, and senior leaders within the established network.
β’ Analyze confidential information memoranda and management presentations to assess sector-specific operational compatibility and associated risks.
β’ Engage in private equity sponsor presentations when subsector and operational expertise are pertinent.
β’ Contribute operational due diligence perspectives on target firms.
β’ Counsel the Fireclay team on strategic positioning and messaging for sponsor outreach and sourcing initiatives.
β’ Collaborate with the Fireclay team on particular deals where specialized knowledge adds value.
β’ Assist with engagements that typically span three to twelve months on a deal-specific basis.
β’ Experience as VP Operations, COO, President, or CEO within a utility services operator, renewable developer, O&M platform, water utility, environmental services platform, or PE-backed energy infrastructure operator.
β’ At least fifteen years in energy-adjacent services.
β’ Proven multi-site or multi-region operational experience.
β’ Familiarity with regulated utility procurement, federal and state environmental regulations, or renewable project financing, depending on the subsector.
β’ Established network of contacts with founders, family business owners, senior executives, and private equity professionals in the subsector.
β’ Ability to represent Fireclay professionally to PE sponsors and management of target companies.
β’ Discretion in managing non-public data and competitive insights.
β’ Flexibility to work on a per-engagement basis without set hours or obligations.
β’ Current resume or LinkedIn profile link.
β’ A brief statement outlining subsector focus along with two or three relevant operational engagements or transactions.
β’ Two or three reference contacts.
β’ 1099 independent contractor arrangement.
β’ Success fees per deal on closed engagements where you make significant contributions.
β’ Option for a retainer on active sourcing tasks.
β’ Potential for equity participation in select strategic projects.
β’ No fixed working hours or minimum time requirements.
