Operating Partner – Education and Government Services

📋 Description

• Deliver market insights regarding bolt-on opportunities, competitive landscape, and valuation context within the subsector.

• Facilitate introductions to founders, family owners, and senior executives within the existing network.

• Evaluate confidential information memoranda and management presentations to assess sector-specific operational alignment and risk.

• Engage in PE sponsor presentations when relevant to the subsector and operational background.

• Provide input on operational due diligence for target companies.

• Counsel the Fireclay team on positioning and messaging strategies for sponsor outreach and sourcing campaigns.

• Collaborate with the Fireclay team on particular deals where domain expertise adds value.

• Support deal engagements, typically spanning three to twelve months, on a deal-specific basis.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as President, COO, or CEO at an education services platform, GovTech company, federal services contractor, or PE-backed platform within either subsector.

• At least fifteen years in the subsector with senior operational responsibilities and direct customer relationships.

• Familiarity with procurement cycles, contracting vehicles, and customer dynamics specific to the subsector.

• Established network of founders, family owners, senior executives, and PE professionals within the subsector.

• Ability to represent Fireclay professionally to PE sponsors and management of target companies.

• Discretion in managing non-public information and competitive intelligence.

• Openness to work on a flexible per-engagement basis without fixed hours or commitments.

• Based in the US or Canada.

• Submission of a resume or LinkedIn URL.

• A brief statement detailing subsector focus and two to three relevant operational engagements or transactions.

• Contact information for two or three references.
