This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.
β’ Instruct both undergraduate and graduate students in courses focused on practical applications.
β’ Support student learning in alignment with DeVry University's standards.
β’ Create course syllabi and detailed lesson plans.
β’ Prepare, organize, revise, and update course materials effectively.
β’ Utilize online platforms and course-related software, such as websites, email, and online forums.
β’ Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
β’ Communicate course objectives, assignment deadlines, and grading criteria clearly.
β’ Ensure that examination content aligns with the stated course objectives.
β’ Prepare and grade examinations in a consistent and equitable manner.
β’ Provide prompt feedback to students regarding their performance.
β’ Incorporate responsible AI technologies into both teaching and learning practices.
β’ Identify, assess, and manage appropriate and inappropriate uses of AI tools by students.
β’ Perform additional duties as required.
β’ A master's degree in a healthcare-related field is mandatory.
β’ A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the subject area being taught is required.
β’ Applicants must submit unofficial graduate-level transcripts with their application.
β’ Degrees must be obtained from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or from an international institution with equivalent accreditation.
β’ Experience in inpatient coding is essential.
β’ Current professional experience in a healthcare environment is necessary.
β’ A current industry-related certification (CCS) is required.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of practical knowledge in healthcare operations is expected.
β’ At least five years of recent inpatient coding experience is required.
β’ Familiarity with electronic health/medical records is needed.
β’ Understanding of IT systems and their functionalities within the healthcare sector is important.
β’ Knowledge of health insurance and reimbursement processes is necessary.
β’ Awareness of health privacy and ethical standards is required.
β’ Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies and billing procedures is essential.
β’ Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, is required.
β’ Strong subject matter expertise and excellent communication skills are essential.
β’ A commitment to ongoing professional growth in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices is expected.
