Online Theory Course Instructor – Optician Diploma Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Act as a part-time online theory instructor for the Optician Diploma Program.

• Instruct DOPD120: Professional Practice & Office Procedures.

• Instruct DOPD130: Foundations of Optics.

• Conduct synchronous online classes Monday to Friday from 9am–12pm.

• Maintain an average schedule of 25 hours per week.

• Contribute to the education of aspiring Opticians throughout Canada.

• Collaborate with the Stenberg College team to enhance student success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a licensed and practicing Optician.

• Successful completion of an accredited Optician program.

• A minimum of two years’ experience in eyeglass dispensing and contact lens fitting.

• Intermediate computer skills, including Email, Internet navigation, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Significant organizational experience.

• Experience with edging is considered an asset.

• Familiarity with fitting gas permeable lenses is advantageous.

• Knowledge of guidelines established by COBC is essential.

• Completion of Adult Learning Certification is preferred.

• A strong passion for investing in students and the Opticianry profession.
