On-Call Maintenance Specialist – Contract Role

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Evaluate course performance metrics to determine content that needs updates.

• Analyze student feedback on a large scale and prioritize actionable enhancements.

• Resolve bugs in course materials and address issues reported by students.

• Revise classroom instructions to reflect changes in AWS Console, Azure Portal, and GCP Console.

• Update Python/NodeJS code and refresh outdated exercise and project dependencies.

• Modify course text, screenshots, instructions, tutorials, exercises, and projects.

• Install updated Python packages in Udacity Workspaces.

• Refresh exercises and starter code for newer programming environments, such as upgrading from Python 3.6 to Python 3.12.

• Test Cloud Labs and ensure necessary cloud services are activated.

• Troubleshoot student access and permissions in federated AWS, Azure, and GCP accounts.

• Primarily work as an individual contributor while collaborating with Udacity team members and possibly Content Developers, Program Managers, and Learning Architects to define project scope, set priorities, and gather information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong knowledge of popular services in at least two of AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with compute, database, networking, storage, backup, container, and Kubernetes services.

• Experience with at least one CI/CD tool, preferably CircleCI or GitHub Actions.

• Knowledge of Docker and containerization technologies.

• Minimum of 2 years of software development experience, preferably in JavaScript or Python.

• Proficiency with Git/GitHub and version control systems.

• Ability to debug and update exercises and projects developed in Python.

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities.

• Excellent written communication skills for documenting changes and offering clear instructions.

• Capability to produce technical instructional documentation similar to official AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP guidelines.

• Keen attention to detail and a student-first approach.

• Architect-level certification is an advantage.

• A resume showcasing relevant cloud experience is required for application.
