Network Engineer IV

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable, resilient network solutions within the domains of routing, switching, fabric, and security.

• Lead advanced troubleshooting initiatives pertaining to routing protocols, fabric/switching connectivity, and conflicts in firewall policies.

• Architect and manage Cisco ACI fabric environments, focusing on tenant design, endpoint groups, contracts, and fabric integration.

• Architect and oversee Cisco SD-Access fabric environments, covering underlay/overlay design, fabric nodes, and DNA Center-based policies and segmentation.

• Design, configure, and troubleshoot BGP and OSPF routing environments effectively.

• Engineer highly available switching infrastructure across Nexus, ACI, and SD-Access environments, including VXLAN/EVPN segmentation.

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including policy design, NAT, VPN, and threat prevention measures.

• Design and oversee NAC policies and device compliance utilizing Forescout or Aruba ClearPass.

• Act as an escalation point for significant, service-impacting network issues.

• Review and propose security postures to colleagues and security teams.

• Research and suggest hardware, software, and vendor solutions.

• Lead the planning and implementation of network hardware installations.

• Develop project plans and task lists and engage in peer design reviews.

• Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to assess and integrate equipment and services.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

• Mentor junior engineers.

• Participate in the on-call support rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of enterprise network design, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrades.

• In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, the OSI model, and switching technologies.

• Advanced expertise in BGP and OSPF design, troubleshooting, and optimization techniques.

• Profound knowledge of Cisco ACI architecture and data center fabric design principles.

• Advanced understanding of Cisco SD-Access architecture and campus fabric design methodologies.

• Strong knowledge of network security architecture, particularly in Palo Alto Networks firewall policy design and segmentation strategies.

• Strong grasp of network access control (NAC) concepts and enforcement via Forescout.

• Practical knowledge of equipment from Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, and Brocade.

• CCNP certification or higher is required (Routing and Switching, Enterprise, or Data Center track).

• CCIE certification is preferred.

• Wireless certifications are a plus.

• Preference for candidates based in the Pacific Northwest, though not mandatory.

• Occasional travel to the Seattle, WA metropolitan area is required.

• Participation in the on-call support rotation as per team design.
