This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Responsible for design planning, record creation, and capacity fulfillment across the U.S. and Canadian networks.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to effectively meet service requirements for customers.
• Design DWDM networks in accordance with Network Architecture standards while accommodating future growth of the network and customer base.
• Implement DWDM wave circuit designs within the core network as required.
• Develop Engineering Design Packages that are easily understood by Operations personnel.
• Provide timely updates to project managers and leadership regarding service deliverables and deadlines.
• Review capacity requests for accuracy and clarify design-related issues with the appropriate departments.
• Maintain customer commitments and deadlines in the Zayo database.
• Assist field operations in troubleshooting provisioning issues and review technical data to address project challenges.
• Open, forecast, and manage budgets based on service commitments.
• Obtain optical vendor quotes, order equipment, transfer equipment from inventory to the field, and draft installation scopes of work.
• Manage workload effectively, prioritize critical issues, and navigate order-flow challenges to meet required deadlines.
• Participate in operations-related projects and support managers during customer or network escalations.
• Stay updated on technology and network solutions, and engage in cross-training as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent education, training, and/or experience.
• At least three (3) years of experience in telecommunications and/or data networking.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines, perform multiple non-predictive tasks, and successfully resolve customer conflicts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of optical systems and signal-flow designs through fixed or flex-grid networks utilizing ROADM technology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google applications and project management software.
• Capability to apply logical reasoning to identify issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Familiarity with the following products and systems: Fuji, Adva, Ciena, Cisco, Infinera, Nokia, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Sitetracker equivalents, telecom inventory systems, and Metasolv.
• Knowledge of Visio, Excel, or Google equivalents.
• Applicants must currently have authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization, including OPT, TN, H1B, or any other work visa, now or in the future.
