Network Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Deliver Level 2 technical support for enterprise and data center network infrastructure.

• Identify and resolve network incidents, connectivity challenges, and service requests.

• Troubleshoot Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 network issues, including routing, switching, firewalls, and network connectivity.

• Monitor network infrastructure and respond to alerts and events that impact service.

• Implement approved network configurations, changes, upgrades, and hardware replacements.

• Conduct systematic troubleshooting and escalate complex or unresolved issues to Level 3 engineering teams.

• Assist with incident, problem, and change management processes.

• Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and cross-functional infrastructure teams.

• Ensure accurate network documentation, configuration records, and troubleshooting procedures are maintained.

• Engage in network maintenance, service restoration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Adhere to established security, operational, and change management standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from an accredited college or university and 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.

• Comprehensive understanding of routing, switching, server operating systems, firewalls, wireless controllers, DNS, email, virtual machines, and software applications.

• Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies.

• Knowledge of server hardware technologies related to content delivery performance and capacity.

• Capability to build effective internal and external working relationships.

• Ability to exercise judgment within established procedures and practices.

• Competence in performing office-related tasks, including extended periods of sitting or standing.

• Ability to move throughout an office environment.

• Proficient in using a computer.

• Strong communication skills.

• Industry-recognized networking certification such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, Arista ACE, or equivalent (preferred).

• Experience in supporting data center, enterprise, or 24/7 network operations environments (preferred).

• Exposure to network automation or scripting (preferred).
