Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the configuration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of both enterprise and cloud network infrastructures.

• Facilitate networking and connectivity for applications, services, and environments on the Google Cloud Platform.

• Set up and diagnose network connectivity issues, routing, DNS, firewall rules, load balancing, certificates, network segmentation, and associated services.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, application, and DevSecOps teams to coordinate network requirements and modifications.

• Aid in application migrations, integrations, environment setups, releases, and deployments by identifying and addressing network dependencies.

• Oversee network availability, performance, capacity, and connectivity.

• Investigate outages and performance issues.

• Support incident response and conduct root cause analysis for network-related service disruptions.

• Apply network configurations that align with enterprise architecture, security, and configuration management standards.

• Keep network diagrams, configuration documentation, implementation procedures, and other technical artifacts current.

• Engage in Agile/SAFe planning, sprint activities, technical working sessions, and change-control processes.

• Provide support for defense, federal civilian, and intelligence clients through technology integration and modernization efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in supporting enterprise network environments.

• Active Public Trust Clearance.

• Proficient in cloud networking, preferably with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, network segmentation, and troubleshooting.

• Experience in supporting highly available and secure enterprise applications and infrastructure.

• Skilled in operating within established configuration and change management processes.

• One relevant networking or cloud certification is mandatory.

• Additional cloud or networking certifications are desirable.

• Preferred certifications include Google Cloud Professional Cloud Network Engineer, CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, CompTIA Network+, or Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer.
