Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Design, set up, and maintain network infrastructure encompassing LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless solutions.

• Oversee and troubleshoot Cisco and Fortinet devices within client environments.

• Monitor network performance and proactively pinpoint areas for enhancement or optimization.

• Address complex network incidents and service requests promptly and professionally.

• Engage in network-related projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new deployments.

• Collaborate with security teams to guarantee adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.

• Document network configurations, modifications, and procedures.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the sharing of technical knowledge.

• Participate in service transition activities in conjunction with Professional Services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent experience is required.

• Preferably hold Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) Level 4 or higher.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• At least 3 years of practical experience in network engineering, ideally in a managed services or service provider setting.

• Strong knowledge of Cisco IOS/NX-OS and FortiOS is essential.

• Experience with network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) is advantageous.

• Familiarity with ITIL concepts and service management practices is beneficial.

• Experience with cloud networking in Azure and AWS environments is a plus.
