Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, support, monitor, and troubleshoot the Firm's LAN/WAN infrastructure.

• Provide Tier 3 end-user support to over 1,800 users across 18 or more geographic locations.

• Uphold a Service Level Agreement that encompasses uptime and performance commitments.

• Develop and maintain system standards, including documentation, configurations, and implementations.

• Create and uphold procedures for performance optimization, backup and recovery, and growth planning.

• Evaluate and test new hardware, software, and upgrades as directed by management.

• Supervise Network Specialists and Engineers engaged in switching and routing tasks.

• Serve as the technical liaison for vendors concerning the Firm's networked systems and applications.

• Design, implement, and support system security measures, including firewalls and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).

• Design, implement, and support telephony systems.

• Design, implement, and support user remote access methods.

• Design, implement, and support data backup and recovery methodologies and processes.

• Ensure comprehensive documentation for all facets of the Firm's infrastructure systems.

• Maintain a general understanding of the Firm's software application systems.

• Stay current with relevant infrastructure software and hardware products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience; a combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for the educational requirement.

• Capability to provide Tier 3 end-user support for more than 1,800 users across 18 or more geographic locations.

• Proficient knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure, Intel servers, network security, remote access, and voice/data communications.

• Ability to establish and maintain system standards, documentation, configurations, and implementations.

• Skill in developing and maintaining procedures for performance optimization, backup and recovery, and growth planning.

• Proficient in testing and evaluating hardware, software, and upgrades.

• Knowledgeable in switching and routing.

• Familiarity with networked systems and applications.

• Experience with firewalls and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).

• Knowledge of telephony systems.

• Understanding of user remote access methods.

• Awareness of data backup and recovery methodologies and processes.

• General understanding of software application systems.

• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant infrastructure software and hardware.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills for engaging with attorneys, clients, and staff in person, via email, and on the phone.

• Ability to work with probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

• Competence in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

• Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.

• Skill in creatively diagnosing and solving complex hardware, software, and end-user issues.

• Proven capability to lead and foster consensus among peers and staff.

• Proficiency in operating standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, and fax machines.

• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
