Network Analyst – Mid-level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Attend to and follow up on incidents, requests, and changes pertaining to network infrastructure.

• Troubleshoot layer 2 and layer 3 networks, identifying causes, impacts, and corrective actions.

• Configure and maintain routers, switches, and other networking equipment.

• Analyze interfaces, MAC and ARP tables, routes, adjacencies, logs, and counters for diagnostic purposes.

• Work with VLAN, QinQ, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, and MPLS/LDP, based on the environment.

• Prepare change procedures that include validations, tests, and rollback strategies.

• Execute and monitor scheduled maintenance windows, ensuring effective communication and risk management.

• Document activities and technical decisions in tickets, adhering to defined SLAs.

• Collaborate with customers, carriers, vendors, and technical teams on diagnostics and escalations.

• Maintain documentation, diagrams, inventories, and configuration standards, ensuring they are up to date.

• Identify recurring faults, risks, and opportunities for enhancement.

• Share knowledge and assist less experienced analysts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in network operations, support, or management, ideally with ISPs or carriers.

• Hands-on experience in configuring equipment and troubleshooting connectivity issues.

• Practical knowledge of Internet service provider (ISP) networks.

• Intermediate understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, subnetting, and high availability.

• Familiarity with VLAN, QinQ, STP/RSTP/MSTP, and LACP.

• Hands-on experience with OSPF and BGP, along with basic knowledge of IS-IS.

• Capability to analyze routes, policies, adjacencies, convergence, latency, packet loss, and interface utilization.

• Experience in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment via CLI.

• Knowledge of tools such as ping, traceroute, MTR, tcpdump, Wireshark, and DNS lookups.

• Basic understanding of MPLS/LDP, NAT, QoS, gateway redundancy, and layer 2 services.

• Familiarity with Linux, SSH, SNMP, Syslog, and log analysis.

• Experience with incident and change management, technical documentation, and adhering to SLAs.

• Strong communication, organizational skills, a sense of priority, and availability for on-call duty, shifts, or scheduled windows.

• Nice to have: experience in CGR, NOC, or support roles for ISPs, carriers, or telecommunications companies.

• Nice to have: multivendor experience with Huawei, Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, MikroTik, Datacom, ZTE, or FiberHome.

• Nice to have: knowledge of MPLS/LDP, VPLS, BNG/BRAS, PPPoE, RADIUS, CGNAT, OLTs, or access networks.

• Nice to have: automation skills in Python, Ansible, or scripting, along with familiarity with Git.

• Nice to have: courses or certifications in networking, telecommunications, Linux, ITIL, or related fields.
