Network Analyst – Junior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Address, document, and monitor incidents and requests pertaining to network infrastructure.

• Conduct initial assessments of connectivity issues, outages, latency, packet loss, and service disruptions.

• Utilize tests, queries, logs, alarms, and device information for diagnostic purposes.

• Examine interfaces, IP addressing, MAC and ARP tables, routing, utilization, and errors in accordance with established procedures.

• Assist in the configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, and other equipment under technical oversight.

• Implement standardized processes and low-complexity changes by following team directives.

• Record evidence, actions undertaken, and outcomes in the incident tickets.

• Elevate issues to analysts, customers, carriers, and vendors based on escalation protocols and service level agreements (SLAs).

• Oversee maintenance windows and aid in validation testing.

• Ensure documentation, diagrams, inventories, and knowledge bases are current.

• Engage in training and knowledge-sharing sessions.

• Recognize recurring incidents, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement.


⛳️ Requirements

• Strong background in networking with a desire to enhance skills in ISP and carrier settings.

• Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI and TCP/IP models, IPv4, IPv6, and subnetting.

• Basic familiarity with switching concepts: VLANs, trunks, MAC tables, STP, and link aggregation.

• Fundamental knowledge of static and dynamic routing, particularly OSPF and BGP.

• Capability to analyze addressing, routes, interfaces, latency, packet loss, and availability.

• Proficiency with tools such as ping, traceroute, MTR, nslookup/dig, and SSH access.

• Basic hands-on experience configuring and querying devices via command line interfaces.

• Introductory understanding of DNS, DHCP, NAT, SNMP, Syslog, and Linux.

• Willingness to work shifts, on-call responsibilities, or during scheduled maintenance periods.

• Relevant experience, internships, or practical involvement in support, infrastructure, networking, or telecommunications is preferred.

• Completion of introductory courses or certifications in networking, Linux, or telecommunications is advantageous.
