National Sales Manager – Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Play a key role in the strategic and tactical advancement of sales initiatives and communications for the Imbruvica and Epkinly franchise.

• Report directly to the Head of Sales as a member of the Sales Leadership Team.

• Partner with Franchise Marketing, Sales Operations, Sales Training, Market Access, and Sales Leadership to enhance sales effectiveness and efficiency.

• Propel sales force effectiveness by overseeing and implementing sales systems, processes, and initiatives, including National Sales Meetings and offsite events.

• Convert brand performance insights into practical sales strategies and tactics.

• Act as the sales liaison with Sales Operations for planning, execution, and communication purposes.

• Supervise weekly and monthly performance and trend analysis reports.

• Manage both regular and ad hoc incentive plans and programs.

• Adjust incentives based on feedback from the field.

• Assess field alignment and consider alternative structures.

• Create and execute sales force communication plans in collaboration with Sales and Marketing leadership.

• Leverage previous external customer experience to enhance sales force performance; no external customer responsibilities will be assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of proven sales experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry in progressively responsible commercial leadership positions.

• Franchise sales and sales leadership experience is highly preferred, especially with launch experience.

• A bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field is preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience is required.

• U.S. commercial experience is mandatory.

• Strong matrix management skills and cultural awareness to work effectively across AbbVie Inc.

• Oncology experience is a plus.

• Proven ability to influence and manage a complex range of internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong executive presence and leadership capabilities.

• Capacity to attract and nurture world-class commercial talent.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Familiarity with the market, disease states, and relevant products.

• Outstanding organizational, analytical, and presentation abilities.

• Must meet applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and maintain good standing or be eligible for the necessary credentials.

• Background checks, drug screenings, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, and specific licenses required by individual states or cities may be necessary.
