Municipal/Utility Compensation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct and assist in compensation and classification studies for municipal and utility employers.

• Analyze roles related to craft, technical, operator, professional, and management within utilities and public works.

• Develop peer sets that encompass utilities, special districts, and similar municipal operations.

• Assess premiums, certifications, shift differentials, and overall compensation practices.

• Provide support for salary structure, range, and implementation recommendations.

• Create clear reports and presentations for boards and executives.

• Contribute technical content related to the utility sector for AlphaGov proposals.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in compensation/classification consulting or utility HR compensation roles.

• Direct involvement with public utilities, including water/wastewater, electric, or special-district compensation studies (or equivalent municipal public-works heavy studies).

• Strong skills in analysis and report writing.

• Capability to communicate technical findings to audiences without technical backgrounds.

• Preferred: experience with electric utility peer surveys.

• Preferred: experience with water district studies.

• Preferred: knowledge of FLSA as it pertains to field/operations roles.
