MSP Engineer, Network and Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Morocco, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Manage the client intake channel during assigned shifts, qualifying and triaging requests while ensuring first responses meet established service levels.

• Diagnose and resolve incidents across the Cloudflare ecosystem, encompassing WAF, DDoS mitigation, rate limiting, bot management, CDN and caching, DNS, TLS, load balancing, Zero Trust, and Workers.

• Assess monitoring alerts, adhere to documented runbooks, and create tickets as necessary.

• Escalate issues to senior engineers, the MSP & Support Lead, and Cloudflare Support as per the escalation matrix.

• Maintain precise Jira ticket records, documenting detection sources, priorities, and timestamps.

• Implement production configuration changes under formal change control with four-eyes validation and documented rollback strategies.

• Provide technical support during client go-live events, including pre-go-live validation and post-cutover monitoring.

• Maintain Cloudflare configurations as code utilizing Terraform and version control.

• Investigate and rectify configuration drift identified through automated nightly comparisons.

• Conduct proactive audits on configuration and security posture, analyze false positives, calibrate cache and rate limits, ensure DNS and certificate hygiene, and clean up unused rules.

• Analyze traffic and security telemetry using Cloudflare Analytics, GraphQL API, and log data.

• Propose and implement security and performance enhancements, demonstrating their effectiveness.

• Contribute to root-cause analysis and problem management following significant and recurring incidents.

• Collaborate with client NOC and security teams during operational communications and major incident bridges.

• Draft and maintain runbooks, Standard Operating Procedures, and configuration documentation in Confluence.

• Assist professional services and implementation teams during escalations and managed-service transitions.

• Share technical expertise across the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in network, security, or cloud operations.

• Experience in managed services, NOC, or SOC environments is a significant advantage.

• Strong working knowledge of DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, proxies, caching, and CDN mechanics.

• Practical experience with Cloudflare across WAF, DDoS mitigation, rate limiting, bot management, CDN, and DNS.

• Cloudflare certification is expected within the first six months if prior Cloudflare experience is limited.

• Proficient in using curl, dig, traceroute, browser developer tools, and HAR analysis.

• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.

• Familiarity with Git/version control systems.

• Scripting skills in Python or Bash.

• Understanding of web application architecture and application-security fundamentals.

• Knowledge of Jira Service Management and ITIL-aligned incident, change, and problem-management processes.

• Exposure to observability and monitoring platforms.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.

• Full professional fluency in both French and English is mandatory.

• French and English proficiency will be evaluated during the interview process.

• Comfortable working remotely within an internationally distributed team across Morocco, the Philippines, France, and the Gulf.
