This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee loan production for a designated group of Mortgage Loan Officers within a specific geographic sub-market.
• Collaborate on sales and business development initiatives under the guidance of the Regional Mortgage Sales Manager.
• Recruit Mortgage Loan Officers for the assigned territory.
• Propel revenue growth, ensure expense compliance, and enhance operational efficiencies.
• Hire skilled personnel, establish objectives, nurture staff development, manage performance and compensation, foster teamwork, and address disciplinary matters.
• Supervise 8–12 Mortgage Loan Officers, including conducting performance evaluations, implementing PIPs, providing training, and approving time cards and expenses.
• Oversee profitable growth and production objectives for the designated team and region.
• Manage business pipelines and supervise team files in progress.
• Seek new referral sources and maintain strong relationships with retail management, Wealth, and other banking partners.
• Evaluate team development and training requirements.
• Ensure the timely completion of compliance training and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Reach personal and team CRA/LMI lending targets.
• Meet with potential clients to explain mortgage products and services.
• Assist customers throughout the mortgage application process and manage expectations during processing and closing.
• Verify that applications are accurate and contain all necessary documentation.
• Market and originate residential mortgage loans in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Generate referrals for mortgage services and other company offerings.
• Formulate strategies to meet sales objectives.
• Input loan data into mortgage systems and prepare underwriting files.
• Underwrite loans utilizing point-of-sale underwriting systems within authorized limits.
• Submit applications for processing, resolve conditions, finalize commitments, and prepare for closings.
• Communicate with clients, underwriters, processors, realtors, and closing agents; attend closings as required.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage products, industry practices, laws, and regulations through ongoing education.
• Participate in homebuyer seminars, home shows, broker meetings, and financing workshops.
• Suggest changes to products, programs, and pricing.
• Support successful audits and examinations.
• Manage complex mortgage requirements.
• Attend regional retail meetings alongside or in the absence of Regional Sales Managers.
• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in mortgage origination.
• At least 3 years of management experience is necessary.
• In-depth knowledge of the mortgage industry and its guidelines.
• Outstanding sales abilities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent motivational capabilities.
• Current awareness of trends and products in the residential mortgage industry.
• Competitive mindset with a proven ability to exceed goals in a dynamic environment.
• Must qualify for employment with a covered financial institution according to Regulation Z.
• Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS under the SAFE Act.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and credit report check.
• Willingness to travel domestically on occasion.
• Capability to perform sedentary work and manage multiple tasks continuously.
• Proficiency in operating standard office equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and understand instructions.
• Competence in basic arithmetic.
• Physical ability to meet requirements, including occasional sitting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, reaching forward, and lifting or carrying items under 25 lbs.
