This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Originating and selling residential mortgage loans to meet established sales targets.
• Engage with prospects referred by realtors, developers, attorneys, as well as internal and external referral sources.
• Clarify mortgage products and services while recommending options suited to the needs of prospects.
• Assist customers throughout the mortgage application process.
• Ensure that applications are precise and contain all necessary documentation.
• Manage customer expectations concerning processing times and closing dates.
• Generate referrals for mortgage opportunities alongside other company offerings.
• Collaborate with sales management to devise strategies for attaining sales objectives.
• Input loan details into the mortgage loan system and create accompanying files.
• Forward applications and pertinent information to underwriting and processing departments.
• Underwrite loans utilizing point-of-sale underwriting systems within the designated authority.
• Communicate loan decisions and any additional information requirements to customers.
• Finalize loan commitments and prepare loans for the closing process.
• Coordinate with customers, underwriters, processors, realtors, closing agents, and others involved.
• Attend closings as necessary.
• Stay informed about mortgage products, laws, regulations, policies, and industry trends.
• Participate in homebuyer seminars, home shows, brokers' meetings, and financing workshops.
• Suggest improvements to products, programs, and pricing structures.
• Ensure successful completion of TD Bank audits and examinations.
• Address complex mortgage requirements.
• Bachelor's degree or relevant progressive work experience, in addition to the experience requirements.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage origination.
• Demonstrated sales capabilities.
• Developing knowledge of the mortgage industry, including products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines.
• Exceptional sales ability and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to plan activities to meet sales goals.
• Strong time management capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient PC skills and capacity to learn mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems.
• Must meet eligibility criteria for employment with a covered financial institution as per Regulation Z.
• Must qualify for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS under the SAFE Act.
• Satisfactory results from a criminal background check and credit report check.
• Occasional domestic travel may be required.
• Ability to perform sedentary work, manage multiple tasks, operate standard office equipment, sit for extended periods, read, write, understand instructions, and perform basic arithmetic.
