This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Engage with prospects referred by realtors, developers, attorneys, and both internal and external referral sources.
• Provide detailed explanations of mortgage products and recommend options tailored to the needs of prospects.
• Assist customers throughout the mortgage application process.
• Clarify the necessary information and steps involved in the loan process.
• Ensure that applications are complete and contain all required documentation.
• Manage customer expectations regarding processing timelines and closing dates.
• Originate and sell residential mortgage loans in compliance with policies, legal standards, and regulatory guidelines.
• Generate referrals for mortgage services and other products offered by the company.
• Formulate strategies to meet sales targets.
• Input loan information into the mortgage loan system while maintaining accurate pipelines.
• Prepare supporting underwriting and regulatory documentation.
• Forward applications and necessary information to the underwriting department.
• Underwrite loans utilizing point-of-sale underwriting systems within authorized limits.
• Communicate loan decisions and any additional information requirements to customers.
• Submit materials for processing, resolve outstanding conditions, finalize commitments, and prepare for closing.
• Coordinate with customers, underwriters, processors, realtors, and closing agents.
• Attend closings as necessary.
• Stay updated on industry practices, products, mortgage laws, and regulations through ongoing training and seminars.
• Participate in homebuyer seminars, trade shows, broker meetings, and financing workshops.
• Suggest improvements to products, programs, or pricing structures.
• Support successful audits and examinations conducted by TD Bank.
• Address complex mortgage requirements.
• A Bachelor’s degree or relevant progressive work experience in addition to the required experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage origination.
• Demonstrated sales proficiency.
• Developing expertise in the mortgage industry, including products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines.
• Exceptional sales and negotiation capabilities.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to organize activities to meet sales objectives.
• Strong time management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in PC skills, including the capacity to learn mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems.
• Must qualify for employment with a covered financial institution as per Regulation Z.
• Must meet the eligibility criteria for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with NMLS under the SAFE Act.
• A satisfactory criminal background and credit report check are required.
• Necessary statements/certification concerning administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by government agencies/authorities.
• Occasional domestic travel may be required; no international travel is anticipated.
