This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Oversee the daily sales activities of Mortgage Loan Officers.
• Serve as the primary point of communication among the MLO, sourcing agents, customers, vendors, mortgage operations, and sales support.
• Act as a key contact for customers to address and resolve issues.
• Aid high-performing loan officers in the prompt completion of loan applications.
• Proactively manage the collection of documents from origination to closing.
• Supervise the Mortgage Loan Officers’ pipeline, monitor deliverables, and keep borrowers informed about loan progress.
• Set customer expectations concerning rate inquiries, third-party providers, loan status, and additional information.
• Confirm appointments and review necessary application documents with clients.
• Facilitate the intake of full or partial applications.
• Discuss products and pricing at the loan officer’s request or in their absence.
• Examine files for potential income and asset issues and address them prior to underwriting.
• Assist in structuring deals that comply with underwriting standards.
• Advocate for client files and manage underwriting escalations as needed.
• Explain TD underwriting guidelines to borrowers.
• Compose credit memos that clarify unique circumstances and summarize lending requests.
• Liaise between Loan Officers, Mortgage Operations, and Sales Support.
• Create a customer database to enhance new marketing opportunities.
• Follow up with sales leads on behalf of the MLO.
• Actively manage the lead pipeline in collaboration with the MLO.
• Cultivate relationships with MLO referral partners independently.
• Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
• Provide assistance in other areas as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of underwriting and mortgage guidelines.
• Outstanding interpersonal and sales abilities for engaging with prospective borrowers.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage lending, products, policies, and procedures.
• Proven computer skills, including proficiency with basic mortgage loan origination systems.
• Highly developed customer service capabilities.
• Ability to convey complex mortgage information in clear, understandable terms.
• Capability to work effectively in a dynamic, detail-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with mortgage laws and regulations, including Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, RESPA, and Reg Z.
• Awareness of state and federal agency mortgage loan guidelines and regulations.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to prioritize workload effectively and meet deadlines.
• Capacity to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in computer skills.
• Must meet employment eligibility criteria with a covered financial institution under Regulation Z standards.
• Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS in compliance with the SAFE Act.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, credit report, and required government-agency findings statements.
